Thanksgiving has come and gone, and what an amazing weekend it was. We have a few dear friends who live here in Hamilton, and are far away from their families. It’s no good to spend holidays from your family, so we thought we’d plan a nice ‘family dinner’ for some of the people we love so much. Cake + Loaf was a must-stop for us, with their pies and their delicious cranberry sauce (with orange, sage and rosemary). The girls who own Cake + Loaf are SO nice, and it’s always such a pleasure to go in there. Our friend Meag made the turkey - a huge 17 pounder! We had mixed drinks (courtesy of Sweet Ice/left overs from our dance party…) and everyone made the most amazing food. Add all that to an amazing long table in Meg’s living room, with 18 wonderful people sitting around it, and you get the best Thanksgiving dinner ever…
As promised - more dance party pictures! We had such an amazing time! It really was the perfect way to end the Sweet Ice season. It’s been a few weeks since the party, and we’ve already had SO many requests for another one. (Hmm, New Years?)
DJ Donna Lovejoy absolutely killed it on the 1’s and 2’s, and Anne was the best bartender we could have asked for. We took turns on snow cone duty, and spent the rest of our night dancing away. It really was the most fun night ever! More pictures here.
WHOA!! Our dance party happened! And it was SO MUCH FUN!
We hope you were able to make it - we couldn’t believe the turnout! And the dancing! And the great music! And we’re just so floored that everyone loved our mixed-drink snow cones SO much! We were so flattered to see lineups the whole night! (Pardon the exclamation marks - we’re basically on cloud nine over here…)
That’s all for now, we’re still resting up…but we did get a few sneak peeks from our photographer! More pictures coming soon!
Oh goodness. Supercrawl is amazing! What a crazy day!
We had a great time at our booth, and got to meet so many wonderful people. Our flavors were a total hit, and we sold out just as the night was wrapping up. We’re so grateful for all the support and positive feedback we got, and we felt so honored to be part of such an incredible event. It seems like everyone is feeling really proud to be part of Hamilton right about now.
We were written up on Happening Hamilton, and you can read the article here. All the nice words made us blush - thanks Katie!
Also, you can see more pictures from Supercrawl here, here, and here, just to start! And you can find more Sweet Ice Supercrawl pictures here!
We’ll be at Open Streets this weekend, so maybe we’ll see you there!

Went to Bennett’s this past weekend to pick up all our fruit for Supercrawl! Bennett’s does an amazing job of sourcing local farmers and providing fresh fruit from local farms when it’s in season. They also grow a lot of their own items (apples, corn, squash, etc), and make the MOST AMAZING apple cider. Make way for the apple cider snow cone, Hamilton!

BIG announcement!
Something very exciting is happening over here at Sweet Ice! Maybe you’re heard…we’re throwing a dance party!
And it’s not just your regular, run-of-the-mill dance party. No, people. It’s going to be AWESOME. It’ll be at Vasco Da Gama on Saturday, October 1st, so make sure you keep it open!
Other amazing things about this party? Music is by the lovely DJ Donna Lovejoy (of Mulberry’s ‘After Dark’ fame), there will be mixed-drink snow cones (RIGHT?!), and get this: A GIANT LITE-BRITE. Can you tell we’re excited?
Hope you can make it! Tickets are limited. See you there!
Wow! What an incredible night!
We set up shop at the August Art Crawl, and really weren’t sure what to expect. We couldn’t have asked for a better night - we were lined up all night, and sold out by 10:00! We’ve had great feedback since the event…Hamilton seems to LOVE snowcones, and we couldn’t be more pleased!
We were approached about a few more events we hadn’t counted on, so you’ll be hearing about those soon, I’m sure. How exciting!
You can see more pictures from the Art Crawl on Facebook, here. Thanks to everyone who came and tried a snow cone! We can’t wait to see you at Supercrawl!
Meg here! I’ve been away at the cottage for the week, and I whipped up something cute while I was there. The cottage is amazing, and the most relaxing place in the entire world BUT I’m not so good at just doing nothing…so I brought my sewing machine!
I made these from an outdated pattern, and they were a little more complicated than they needed to be, but they were fun to make and turned out great.
Special thanks to my lovely MIL, who helped me with…everything. She’s an apron-saver…
We’re so excited to wear our new aprons at Art Crawl this Friday! We’ll be sure to update with some pictures!
Some more pictures from Jared and Michelle’s wedding! We had such a fun time! Our flavors for this event were ‘Sweet Espresso’, ‘Raspberry Lemonade’ and ‘Watermelon Mint’ - so yummy! We decorated our stand with some peonies right out of Meg’s garden. The chalkboard is something we picked up at our Caledonia Yard Sale adventure a few weeks ago. All in all, our Sweet Ice stand looked quite darling! You can see more pictures here!
This weekend we went to see our trailer in REAL LIFE for the FIRST TIME! It’s just a few hours away from Hamilton, and we were going to be driving past it, so we just had to stop in. HOW CUTE IS IT?! We’re going to be picking it up in just a few weeks - we’re SO excited…
Our snow cones were a huge hit at Jared and Michelle’s wedding! The line up was intense, and we served about 150 cones in about half an hour! That means fast hands and lots of smiles…so fun! We’ve posted a few pictures of people enjoying Sweet Ice. Stay tuned for some pictures of our table and our yummy flavors!
In case you didn’t know, Sweet Ice is undertaking a huge, awesome, adorable project - the renovation of our newly acquired 1960’s Shasta trailer! By some kind of amazing happenstance, this gem of a trailer came our way, and we can’t wait to serve snow cones out of it! We won’t be picking it up for a few weeks still, but we just received a few pictures of it.
As you can see, it definitely needs some love and attention (and maybe some paint), but we can’t wait till it’s here in Hamilton, so we can start fixing and decorating! We plan to host a gigantic fundraiser in the Fall, to raise some funds to get this lovely thing on the road.
We’ll be sure to update you about our fundraiser, and also about the progress of our renovations!
Just got in from Jared and Michelle’s wedding - what a GORGEOUS day! There was so much love everywhere! More pictures to come…
We spent the last two evenings making syrups for a wedding! Just a sneak peek - we’ll reveal the flavors after the big day!
Hi everyone!
It’s Meg and Linds, and we love making snow cones! Our favorite part about Sweet Ice is the happy face people make when we hand them their icy treat. We make all our syrups from scratch, and pour it over beautifully crushed ice - so yummy! We’re also in the process of renovating our adorable 1960’s Shasta trailer. We’re so excited to lug that pretty thing around Hamilton and serve snow cones to the people of our city! Thanks for checking us out - we hope you’ll follow along as we discover more awesome things to love about snow cones!
